On March 27th, Congress passed the CARES Act, a $2 trillion stimulus bill to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19. The bill includes funding for the $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program (“PPP”) which will provide attractive loans to small businesses (defined as businesses with less than 500 employees) that can be partially forgiven if used to maintain headcount.
